Mexican singer, songwriter and actress Danna Paola has been a pop sensation since childhood. The release of her first two albums (completed before the age of 10) coincided with her being cast in several Mexican telenovelas, including the lead in Amy, la niña de la mochila azul (Amy, the Girl with the Blue Backpack). As a teenager, Paola was cast as Elphaba in the critically-acclaimed Spanish-language production of WICKED. In 2012, she released her fourth solo studio album, Danna Paola, which included the popular track “Ruleta.” Paola’s next two albums (2020’s SIE7E + and 2021’s Latin Grammy-nominated K.O.) produced a collection of songs that would define her candy-coated take on dance-pop: “1Trago,” “Sodio,” “Mala Fama” and “A Un Beso,” plus 2022’s ecstatic party anthem “XT4S1S,” the most-played song on its first day by a Mexican female artist in Spotify history.
